Adrienne Hanako Souza of Waimānalo entered into the pearly gates of heaven on October 19, 2019 in Kāneʻohe at the age of 63. Born on November 8, 1955 to Frank and Audrey Isagawa, Adrienne was a very independent woman who believed in hard work and perserverance. She loved the Hawaiian culture and had the opportunity to dance hula for the late kumu hula Bella Richards as well as fed her spirituality by going to church on her own beginning in her teen years. In high school she was affectionately known as “Buddha” a name that would stick with her for the rest of her life. All of her classmates friends would call her “Aunty Buddha”. She graduated in 1973 from Kailua High School and her first job was located at the First Hawaiian Bank on University Ave. She would end up working as a buyer for many years in the medical industry. After getting married she gave birth to her first child Kimberly in 1976. She would then have a second child, Jarett in 1982. She loved her children very much. She served as their soccer coach on both of their teams and would even spend many years as a volunteer staff member of the world famous Honolulu Boy Choir. Her most recent job was as the senior buyer at the Kuakini Medical Center where she worked for the last 15 years. Adrienne was a loving, kind and caring person who loved her family dearly. She took pride in her volunteer work helping to mold the lives of hundreds of young men from the Honolulu Boy Choir in a positive way. She loved lei making and listening to Hawaiian music. Adrienne especially loved spending time with her granddaughter. She is survived by her mother, Audrey Isagawa, daughter, Kimberly Souza, son, Jarett (Desiree) Souza, granddaughter, Kamalei Souza, sisters, Estelle Isagawa, Francine (Glenn) Weber and Michelle Isagawa, brothers, Ricky Isagawa, Lance (Christine) Isagawa, and Michael Isagawa. A celebration of her life will be held at Kamehameha Schools Bishop Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am. Services at 10:00am.
