Carissa Kiele Sporik

April 28, 1986 - January 8, 2021

Carissa Kiele Sporik unexpectedly transitioned from this earthly plane on January 8, 2021. She was born at the Queen’s Medical Center on 04/28/86, to Dr. Deborah Agles, and Leonard Nickolas Sporik, and welcomed by her sister Sarah, 19 months old. She was raised on Oahu, and attended Makakilo Baptist Preschool, Mauka Lani, Aikahi, St. Anthony’s, and St. Francis schools. She completed her LPN nursing degree at Kapiolani Community College. Carissa was "baby" for the first month of her life, as we were indecisive about names. We settled on Carissa, named after a patient of Deborah's, and Kiele, which is Hawaiian for gardenia, as we had a gardenia bush in the yard. Carissa was loving, sweet, caring, unassuming, and shy. She loved being a nurse, working with the elderly, and more recently at her job with Tripler Dermatology; she adored the staff, thrived on the work, was happy, and had found her place, she was finally "home." She loved her cats, Monkey and Minnie, and the recently passed cat Kiki. She raised hundreds of plants, and nurtured them, like her patients and pets; they were her children, she vibed with them, talked with them, listened to them, and understood their needs. Carissa had a huge, shining, bright heart.....she was kind to the homeless, tipped big, and gave wonderful hugs. She will be missed terribly by her family Deborah, Nick, and Sarah, boyfriend Jesse, her friends, co-workers, kitties, and plants. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriner's, ASPCA, or "anything to do with the environment or animals" (as per Carissa, when I asked about her favorite charities). Spreading of ashes at a later date in Kailua. Prayers and kind, uplifting thoughts are appreciated during this difficult time as we process our loss and grieve for our lovely child, sister, lover, co-worker, and friend, who has left us, and is now whole, complete, and at peace.
