Emily Wahineali’i Aki Swaba, a life-long resident of Moloka’i, passed peacefully on April 28, 2022 at the age of 79. Emily is survived by her children, Frederic Kalani, Kettisha Pualani, Anthony Kahea, Morris Kaleo & wife Lisa, Kathleen Puanani & husband Chris, Karla Pi’ilani & husband Ramon, Kristie Pohai Kealoha & husband Mauricio. She is preceded by her parents, husband Frederic John Swaba, and son John Keola Swaba. Emily was born in Molokai on February 5, 1943 to William Joseph and Annie Aki, a devoted Christian and servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Her hobbies consisted of crafting, quilting, and in her younger years, she was a beautiful hula dancer. Emily and Frederic John Anthony Swaba raised 8 children and adored her 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Emily was nothing short of a loving mother and devoted wife and taught her children to be humble in life. She was known for her strong demeanor and possessed unconditional love for her immediate and extended Ohana.
