Lucrecia Anne Fry
May 23, 1945 - March 1, 2022
Lucrecia Anne Ringgold Fry touched so many lives with her beautiful spirit. She was such a loving, giving person, and will be missed by countless people. Lucrecia was born on May 23, 1945, at Saint Francis Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii. She graduated from Castle High School, class of 1963. She was a Certified Cosmetologist and owner of Lucrecia’s Beauty Salon in Kailua. Throughout her cosmetology career, she had many clients who became life long friends. For ten years, starting in 1983, she styled hair at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, supporting her daughter and the Halau she danced for…so many hair styles, so many wonderful memories! Lucrecia also volunteered for the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good, Feel Better” program, where she helped people that were going through cancer by fitting them with wigs, wearing scarves, and applying make-up. She was both an encouragement and support for cancer patients. On July 1, 2005, Lucrecia and Eldon Fry were married. Lu, as she was called among friends, had been a Kaneohe Yacht Club member since the early 1980’s. She dedicated a lot of her time there, which she enjoyed. She served as Club Secretary for four years, served as Treasurer for the Fishing Fleet, and enjoyed playing cribbage where she was named chairwoman. She loved spending time at KYC with Eldon and her friends, each one of them being dear to her. That’s the kind of heart she had. Lucrecia loved her family with the truest kind of love. One of her greatest wishes was to be a great-grandmother. Her wish came true… she met her brand new great- granddaughter, who was born two weeks before her passing. Lu battled cancer, and survived it the first two times. She passed away in her Kaneohe home on March 1, 2022, surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband Eldon, her siblings: John, Deborah, Yvonne, and Suzanne, her daughter Monique, her step-son Anthony, her two granddaughter’s Ashley-Anne and Allison, and her great granddaughter Selah. She faced any challenge with strength, grace, and beauty. Something she would always say was “Let go, and let God”. There’s an empty space in the place she held. She has left a beautiful legacy. She will always be loved, she will always be remembered. Celebration of Lu’s life will be held, date to be determined.
