Mike Kojima
September 8, 1951 - April 18, 2022
Mike Kojima, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday April 18, 2022 at his home in Mililani with his family by his side. Mike was born in Trieste, Italy, to Tom and Natalia Kojima. He grew up in Gardena California where he attended Perry Junior High and Gardena High School. He was known by family and friends to have nine lives. He never did things half way always full throttle. Mike enjoyed dirt bike riding and he excelled in judo which he took much pride in. He served three years in the Army and was discharged with honors. He then moved to Hawaii where he met his wife of 28 years. They were blessed with two children, a son, Mykel and daughter, Natalia. In December of 2019, Mike retired from the US Coast Guard where he was employed as a Facilities Manager. Mike was a jack of all trades. He loved collecting and fixing things as well as working in his garden, golfing and surfing. Mike loved the outdoors but unfortunately was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in December of 2020 and was no longer able to do those activities. However that did not stop him as he always found something to keep himself busy. He loved his family dearly and in October of 2021 he took a trip to visit family back in Italy and in January of 2022 to California. Mike is survived by his wife Myra (Saito) Kojima, son, Mykel and daughter, Natalia. Mike wished that no services be held and the family will be keeping him at home.
