Stephen Hideo Akamine
June 20, 1954 - April 23, 2018
Born June 20, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, where his father attended dental school, Steve was the middle of three, the only son of Herbert Hidesuke and Nancy Kimie Akamine, brother to Suzanne and Shari, brother-in-law to Ted Uratani and George Argyropoulos, and uncle to Reid, Nick, Isaac, and Samuel. He also had several aunts, and uncles, and cousins. After his dad completed school, and the family moved back to Oahu, Stephen attended Koko Head Elementary, Niu Valley intermediate, and graduated from Kalani High in 1972. He then served in the US Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged, then earned his degree as an electronics technician with high marks. Subsequently, Steve worked for Unisys and GTE, and was given letters of commendation for his performance. He was married to Elizabeth Trapani from 1991 to 1998. Steve later switched careers, studying massage extensively and earning certifications in medical and other massage specializations. He received excellent reviews from clients, who noted significant decreases in their levels of pain, some for the very first time in years. Steve later worked for the City and County of Honolulu. Jesus said, "Those who come to me I will in no wise cast out." Revelation chapter 21, vs. 4, says, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away... Behold, I make all things new."
