October 31, 1986 - March 12, 2021
Tristan Danielle Brisendine Waggoner 10/31/1986 to 03/12/2021 Tristan was one of the last babies born in Walsh Colorado. She was a total blessing to her Mom Trisha Brisendine and her grandparents adored her from the moment she arrived. Tristan spent her childhood in Kim Colorado on the ranch that she loved and she was her Dad’s Shorty—she helped him with everything and adored him from the moment he asked her if she would let her mom marry him. Kevin Waggoner adopted Tristan in 1989 and was an amazing father to her. Tristan graduated in 2004 from Kim High School and went to college at University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo. Tristan had a challenging path with severe chronic illness that at times would incapacitate her at times and when she was 14, she got a clot in her leg that never resolved and created a great deal of pain for her. She also lost most of her vision at the age of 16 but her attitude was “I GOT THIS” “Nobody will tell me I can’t do it.” Tristan loved her little mare Dreamer and the first rodeo after her blindness she and Dreamer won the poles at Kids Rodeo. She was a great hand and loving “mom” figure to her friends and little Sister Emily. Tristan loved with all of her heart and gave 100% of who she was to any who cared enough to look past her surface and see how very amazing and kind she was. She wanted to give back and her goals was to become an addiction counselor to help those like herself that needed support in overcoming the hardship of addiction. When Tristan called her mom at Christmas of 2018 and told her that she was pregnant it was a very amazed mom (soon to be AMMA) who was so very excited at the news that she had never expected to hear from Tristan. Tristan was glowing and so very happy and she just wanted to be a good mother to her child. When she was told it was a boy after the first ultrasound she fell in love and talked nonstop about her miracle. Picking out the name for her son was special because we looked for strong spiritual names to convey what a MIRACLE, he was to her and to all of us. She chose Asher David because of the meaning (Strong/Miracle/Steadfast) She found Asher to be her biggest blessing and she gave each of us in her life the gift of healing when she gave birth to him on Feb 20, 2019. Tristan’s love for Asher was evident in her clean and sober living and she would daily tell him what a life saver he was for her. She felt healed even when she was struggling because he gave her a great reason to live. We lost Tristan to her chronic condition on March 12, 2021 at her home in Kailua. She has not been feeling well and fell asleep with Asher and did not re awaken. Tristan had asked Jesus into her heart at the age of 11 and was very much comfortable in her salvation and it gives us peace to know that we will all see her again. Tristan was preceded in death by her grandfather Cleo Brisendine in 1994, her stepfather Dale O’Connor in December 2020 multiple other grandparents, aunts and uncles as well as 5 infant siblings. Her passing left her son Asher and her mother Trisha Brisendine (Kailua, HI) devasted but determined to live the life that we desired for her son. Tristan is also survived by her sister Emily Mueller (La Junta, CO), Father Kevin Waggoner (Kim, CO), Paulette and Kent Waggoner (Kim, CO) Grandmother Carolyn Brisendine (Hattiesburg, MS) aunt Tawna and David Schmidt (Simla/Hattiesburg) cousins Brett, Brandon, Jenna, Tyler, Nicky all will miss her. Tristan loved all and will be missed by those left. She had asked that her ashes be sprinkled at a specific spot in toadstool canyon on the ranch in Kim and that some of her be left on the beach where Asher plays. We will have a small family celebration to be determined for date/time in May or June 2021. Please consider donations in her honor to Aspen Miracle Center(303-426-7848 ask for Reva) Aspen made a huge difference in her life and she felt that they helped her develop skills she needed to be a good mom and stay clean.
