Violet was a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church. She also served at Kawaiaha’o Church and at the Pearl City Community Church. Here at PCCC, she performed with their choir and participated in many community events including their annual Lu’au fundraiser. In her lifetime, she worked diligently in various jobs to support and provide for her family. She finally retired as a cook from a popular downtown lunch wagon well known for her many specialty dishes. She was an amazing cook! Her respect and care for all living things were manifested in her beautiful gardens. Simply watering her flowers and plants were not enough; she would sing to them as well. Her reward were these flourishing blossoms full of vibrant color and fragrance that surrounded and filled her home. She enjoyed playing volleyball and celebrated her love of the game with seasonal tickets cheering on the UH Men and Wahine teams. She delighted in dancing hula, making leis, swimming, paddling, listening to live music, reading the inspiring words of God…and traveling, oh how she loved and appreciated all the different cultures from around the world. Las Vegas was a frequent destination giving her the excitement of playing slots and savoring in the endless buffets. Mahalo Nui, Violet, for being a devoted and steadfast woman of God, a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunty, Grandmother, and Tutu. You will always be remembered as a woman of great faith and culture, with an unconditional love for family and friends in sharing all that you had with open arms and a warm embrace. We rejoice in knowing that you are in heaven joyfully singing praises. Until we meet again, we love you dearly and will keep you forever in our hearts. Drive by viewing from 10:00am.-1:00pm. at Oahu Cemetery Chapel.
