Yoshiko "Yo" Matsuo
April 2, 1926 - July 22, 2019
93, of Ewa Beach, and a former resident of Kaneohe, Mililani and Skokie, IL, died on July 22, 2019. Born to Yukiharu and Terui Nakauchi in Seattle, WA. At the age of 15, she was imprisoned in the Minidoka internment camp in Idaho in 1942. Through much hardship and perserverance, she earned a BS and RN degree from Temple University and The University of Minnesota. She relocated to the Chicagoland area and was employed for 40 years as a Nurse and Nurse Manager at Presbyterian St Luke and Rush North Shore hospitals. She retired to Hawaii in 1994 to be with her son Kent and family. Yo was a born again Christian, with a deep and abiding faith in the Lord. She is predeceased by her loving husband Dick, and survived by her sons Mark (Keiko) and Kent (Alison) and her grandchildren: Lauren, Kevin and Maxwell. She will be dearly missed and will remain forever in our hearts. A memorial service with lunch will be held at 11:15am on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Pohai Nani auditorium in Kaneohe.
